Baptism is a sacred time in which parents
present their child to become a member of St. Mel's community of faith.
We as members of the Body of Christ welcome and celebrate new life
in the family of God. Through Baptism, parents and godparents make
a commitment on behalf of their child or godchild to live a life rooted
in the Catholic faith. Baptism ministry means empowering the parents
and godparents who will empower their child or godchild to go out into
the world as witnesses of Jesus to manifest God's love to the world.
The Baptism team welcomes couples and individuals who would like to:
- Share their own faith experience through presenting and facilitating
Baptism preparation enrichment sessions.
- Assist parents in guiding the faith journey of their children.
- Facilitate the discussion among the parents and god-parents.
- Support the administration of the program
- Welcome parents and godparents to the celebration of Baptism.
- Provide and lead music for the Baptismal Ceremony.
- Assist with the follow-up.
