Walking with Engaged Couples
While marriage is intended to be a lifelong journey toward Our Father
with the companionship of our chosen partner, this focus is often confused
by our own unique experiences. Marriage preparation is intended to
help each couple step back from their emotions to take an honest look
at what they are about to enter into, and to evaluate their readiness
for this journey.
Join with other mature couples to help engaged couples prepare for
marriage.
- Administer the FOCCUS Inventory to engaged couples.
- Lead discussion questions that encourage couples to explore all
areas of married life such as faith, religion, finances, values,
communication, problem solving, sexuality, natural family planning,
etc.
- Host the marriage preparation seminars given at St. Mel.
- Continue the journey with newly married couples after their wedding
in a couples support group.
